Hi! I am Amy Lunceford!
This is a picture of me and my husband, Luke. We were just married this past May 15th! I am a senior at Appalachian State University majoring in Elementary Education. My husband is an Appalachian State Alumni and is currently seeking his Masters of Divinity in Expository Preaching at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. We are called into ministry and love to serve others. Luke is the Youth and Children’s Minister at Laurel Springs Baptist Church, located in Deep Gap, right outside of Boone. We love every second of ministry and cannot wait to see where God leads us! Now, I want to share a little bit about me!
What I LOVE!
These are pictures of me climbing at Shiprock here in Boone! I am a top rope climber meaning that there is an anchor set up at the top of the climb and the rope loops through the anchor, my harness and to the belayer down below me. The belayer has my life in their hands because when I fall they lock off the rope through their belay device to catch me from falling to the ground. Fortunately for me I have never hit the ground when I fell however I have taken some intense falls that left some nasty bruises and cuts.
Do you wanna go fishin’ in the country?

These are pictures of my Maw Maw’s pond back where I am from. My family lives in a very small town, Midland, North Carolina. The town is full of farms and county land and I absolutely love to venture out into the melodic fields. The wonder within the corn fields are frightening yet invigorating!
As a child I spent many summer days and nights fishing at this pond. The sense of comfort I find in bowels of the countryside make my heart flitter and smile. Being in the stillness of this boisterous world is like a breath of fresh air. There is something about the sounds of the country and that pond that can make a grown man giddy. The gentle purr of the June bugs and the continuous rustle of the crickets bring back the memories of my childhood and will forever be a sound of peace.
Ketchup!
My Mom and Daddy think that I can eat Heinz Ketchup on anything, and I believe them! I love ketchup SO much that every year for Christmas my parents would gift me the largest bottle of ketchup they could find and it would be gone within a few weeks. I believe that I love ketchup SO much that I could put ketchup on my ketchup! My husband presumes that I am a looney toon for using so much ketchup but I believe he is missing out on a delightful part of life! My favorite food to eat ketchup with is of course a juicy cheesy cheeseburger! I not only put ketchup on the burger’s whole wheat bun, I also dip my delicious burger into a mound of ketchup! Let’s just say that I like a little burger with my ketchup!
Sweet Tea!
There are some things in life that I cannot get enough of and one of those things is definitely a brisk glass of sweet tea! In the evenings I love to sit on my front porch with my husband and enjoy a glass of sweet tea as we reflect on our days. There is not a single drink in this world more delicious or satisfying than sweet tea. My husband, Luke, and I drink a gallon of tea every few days; we LOVE it! My favorite meal to drink sweet tea with is crunchy fried chicken, homemade buttery biscuits, mouth watering corn on the cob and fresh grown green beans! I love to drink sweet tea out of a mason jar because it gives me that southern sensation my heart longs for.
How do I look?
I am a five feet, ten inches blonde haired blue eyed woman who always wears a smile! My hair is curly depending on the day and you’ll find that I twirl my hair when I am in deep thought. I love to wear authentically made bracelets and earrings because of the encouraging stories behind the hands who crafted them. In the picture above I am wearing a bracelet that was given to me by my brother, Andrew and his wife, Gena. They are missionaries in El Carmen, Mexico, where they bought me the hand made bracelet for my birthday! I have hand made jewelry from Africa, Ecuador, Honduras, Columbia, and Mexico. I often wear my Kazuri earrings from Sudan, Africa because they were hand made by other women!
Recycling is something that you will see me doing. I see myself as a green individual who cares about the environment and the world around me. I recycle everything that I can! I believe that littering is one of the laziest and apathetic actions a person can perform. You will never see me littering not even with my bubble gum. I was at Carowinds this past summer and witnessed a baby duck struggling with a piece of bubble gum that stuck on its beak. It was so heartbreaking and I felt so sorry for that little duck which is one of the many reasons why I am responsible woman when it comes to my carbon footprint!

It is quite evident that you carefully crafted your About Me page. Excellent descriptions and vivid verbs…I especially like the sentence, “The gently (gentle?) purr of the June bugs and the continuous rustle of the crickets bring back the memories of my childhood and will forever be a sound of peace.”
Thanks Dr. Frye! I will go back and change gently to gentle! I enjoy writing, when I have the time to sit and think about it. It seems that Block II is giving me no sitting time
Hey Amy,
I really enjoyed reading your page! I learned a lot about you that I didn’t know. For instance, you like ketchup SO MUCH! I had no idea. Also, James, like you HATES IT when people throw gum out the window. I have never known someone who feels so adamant about that, but now I do!
Amy you are too cute! I love your page, it fits your perfectly! You and Luke are precious and I never knew about your love for Ketchup!
